Maydianne Andrade is a University Professor in Biological Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough, Past-President and co-Founder of the Canadian Black Scientists Network (CBSN), and Founder of the Toronto Initiative for Diversity & Excellence.
With a PhD in Neurobiology & Behavior from Cornell University, Maydianne has 20 years of experience in science research, teaching, and outreach. s Founder and Senior Advisor for the Toronto Initiative for Diversity & Equity (TIDE), she has been leading inclusive conversations & workshops regarding equity and bias for the past 9 years inside and outside the University.

Maydianne's formal academic leadership roles include terms of Vice Dean Faculty Affairs & Equity and Acting Vice Principal Academic and Dean.
In january 2026 she will begin a new role as the Dean of Science at York University.
